Hope to get your thoughts on what you appreciate most and to avoid in dual sport boots.   Currently I have Forma Axel which are comfortable and good on road but don't grip on gravel and have twisted my ankle twice on rough road terrain and a trail (not badly).
Lots of product info out there with reviews but curious your thoughts. Thanks

I've got Thor 50/50 boots, Fox Shorty boots and MX boots that I cut the top off of.  All good boots.  You can still sprain an ankle or break a toe in MX boots if you hit stuff hard enough.  I like MX boots because of the stiff sole, so when you're standing on the pegs a lot your arches don't hurt.

I have a set of Alpinestar T6s.. use them anytime i'm going to leave town. I have some heavy hiking boots for in town stuff, but honeslty they arent gonna do very much, compared to the T6s.

I have some AXO Slammers that work well for me since I don't do much off-road.  I did have a spill last summer where the bike fell on my right ankle pretty hard and all I got was a slight bruise.

I picked up a pair of O'Neil Rider boots and I like them quite a bit, but certainly wouldn't want to walk very far in them; though I did have to 'sprint' down some railroad tracks at the fastlane rally in Junction City last year.... it's a long story, that involves a LOT of muddy road!
